My Review
Earlier this year, I had the privilege of reading Katy Lee’s latest book as a part of a JustRead tour. If you enjoy suspense that includes dogs and outdoor adventures with a bit of romance, you need to read this book. Many surprises will keep you guessing. Here is my review.
“Typically, only coyotes and jackrabbits traipsed through Harmony Canyon State Park in the middle of the night – and the occasional hiker who didn’t return from a trek through the eight-mile-long and eight-hundred-foot-deep canyon. For Hunter, 2:00 a.m. phone calls typically meant someone had gone missing.”
When Hunter was called to a crime scene, he was really confused since as a K-9 handler, he normally only helped with searches. But when he discovers that it is his former fiancée and that her daughter is missing, he knows that he needs to help. The time to find a younger one is critical. His dog, Libby, is ready to track.
Marlee is used to tracking down drugs as a DEA officer, and her dog, Gustav, assists. But when her late brother’s best friend reaches out, she does not even want to answer his call. Hunter wasn’t there for her brother – why should she be there for him? But the missing girl needs to be found. Can she put aside their feelings?
This is a romantic suspense book full of twists and turns. A few details were predictable, but the the storyline was full of plenty of surprises. Dogs are a pivotal part of the plot. The title seems to be a stand-alone. I definitely could follow along with all of the details. Themes include forgiveness, redemption and second chances.
I read this book as a part of a JustRead tour. I wanted to read and review it. All opinions are my own.
